According to RealWealthNetwork.com, Houston has:
"Houston’s home sales rose for the seventh consecutive month as strong sales of mid-priced homes offset declines in high-end properties and propelled the market to its best September on record", from a recent Houston Chronicle article.
Continued low interest rates and an affordable mid-market appeal keep Houston as a top market going into 2020. On a year-to-date basis, home sales are 4.1% ahead of 2018's record breaking volume.
Home inspection prices on average skew slightly above the national average of $358 for JUST a home inspection. Keep in mind ancillary services like termite, mold or air quality inspections will be an additional cost, and are a great idea in many cases.
We recommend checking out a couple local home inspection company websites to get a feel for their overall professionalism, customer service and reviews. Look for a sample report to see what to expect after you get a home inspection. If you just want to book it, make sure they offer online booking. If you want to really get a feel for their service, give a few a call and ask questions!
A home inspection is not a "pass" or "fail" type of inspection. The purpose of a home inspection is two-fold - to help you and your agent understand the general condition of the major systems of the home, and to help negotiate the purchase price or fixes the seller will make (or help you decide to walk away all together, which doesn't happen often).
