Step 1: Import your HIP template
Your Home Inspector Pro template comes with you. Spectora has a built-in importer that brings your HIP comments into a new Spectora template, so you get a head start instead of a blank page.
- In Spectora, open the Template Editor, click the three dots and choose + Add Templates.
- Select Import from another software and browse to your HIP template file.
- Mac: (yourUserName)/Documents/Home Inspector Pro/Data
- Windows: C:\Program Files\Home Inspector Pro\Data
- Click import. It usually takes 5 to 10 minutes, and you can step away while it runs.
Plan on a little cleanup afterward. HIP's Selection Panels come in as informational comments and its Damage Panels come in as deficiencies, so give those a quick review. This is also a good time to tighten up repeated phrases like "was noted" and swap HIP's "<>" placeholders for Spectora's location tags and multiple-choice answers.
